I spotted one on an SUV in front of me at a red light, all the way in Kansas City, MO! They turned into chipotle, and I followed them, almost got out of my car and asked them where they got it. I chickened out at the last minute and waited till I came home for a visit to hunt down a sticker of my very own
My husband and I are stationed at Camp Zama, Japan. Both of us were born and raised in Oregon and now enjoy the Army life with our 3 children, all of whom were born in Oregon. We both have these stickers on our cars here in Tokyo, Japan and are proud to have them! To say we miss home is an extreme understatement and we are greatly looking forward to being back in Bend for the month of November, 2008.
Tonight, I had the design tattoed to my chest, over my heart. As someone who grew up in Portland, but is now living in California (so as to work in film), I wanted to have a constant and permanent reminder of my beautiful home.
I’ve lived in Oregon all my life and I’ve never known someone who had a passion for it like my good friend, let’s call him, William. I’ve always only had friends who I can learn from and I am constantly amazed by the people around me. William has a greater love for the Northwest than I have ever known, and it’s the most ispirational kind of enthusiasm. I was so happy to order him some stickers, and was even surprised with a free bonus in the envelope when there was a slight delay with the order! Oregon is an amazing place, it’s here that I’ll live, it’s here that I’ll die and be honored to grace the underground of this amazing place.
Its been about 3 or 4 years since I received my first free green heart in Oregon sticker, I remember it well, At Hornings’ Hideout. I was working the traffic after the Cheese. As I was saddened by everyone leaving All of a sudden a hand came out a window and kicked me down 3 stickers. Wow. What a perfect simple expression. As I promptly passed this joy in sticker form along to people driving out I thought, That guy rules. I love family, and I love Oregon. I moved to Oregon from the midwest in 97 to find my heart. I am happy to say I’ve found it and it has turned green. Now I see the green heart everywhere and am stoked that I’m seeing pins and patches and shirts now. Keep the love growing man. See ya at NWSS.
My failed attempts to move to Arizona and California made me realize that Oregon really is my home. I saw the sticker for the first time on a passing car just 3 days ago. Immediately I knew I had to have one. I saw another hours later. And the next day I saw yet another inside a record store. Which is now on my car. It was meant to be
Just moved to Colorado from Portland, OR. Spotted a sticker on the tip jar at the Blue Bird Theatre in Denver Colorado! Oh yea, and on the back of my car….
We live in Bern, Switzerland. We have your sticker on our car. I spent 4 years in Portland, Oregon to become a chiropractor. It was a wonderful time and Oregon became our second home. A few years ago we returned to Portland for a visit and on Mt. Tabor I asked my wife to get married. And she said Yes! Last week we returned from Portland… and with your sticker we carried a piece of Oregon with us.
My father is a native Oregonian. We moved to Oregon in 1990 when he retired from the U.S. Army. At first I didn’t want to move to Oregon. That changed almost immediately upon our arrival. The scenery, the people, the eclectic culture, the outdoor activities – amazing!
I moved to California for a teaching position in 2000, and then got married and had children. From the day I left, I have only wanted to move back to Oregon. I am now divorced and currently unable to move HOME (OREGON IS HOME!), my kids are Oregonians at heart and happier there than any place they have ever been. One day, I will live in Oregon again – or just be buried there!
I was up visiting my parents this summer, and saw a car with this sticker on it. I HAD to have it. I am going to get a tattoo of this sticker on my back!
I dream that one day I will be able to move home with my children! Until then, my heart is yearning – one organ longing for another Oregon!
Since this summer, I’ve been documenting my encounters with the Oregon Stickers. I photograph as I see and put then on my site (http://iheartoregon.tumblr.com/) I’ve also recruited friends to send me photos if they see them as well.
I was driving with my 17 year old daughter and she pointed out the sticker on a car in front of us. She told me her best friend really wanted one but couldn’t find them anywhere. The next day I had 5 spare minutes and Google…when I found you the sticker story really moved me…I have just ordered 10 stickers all of which I will give away.
Spotted a subaru legacy with the “heart in oregon” sticker on it at Como Park in St. Paul Minnesota. I have been living in St. Paul for past year, back in school. I will be moving back home to Oregon this coming May, I can’t wait. Oh, I have the sticker on my car and nalgene. peace.
I put two Heart in Oregon stickers up in an adventure company where I volunteered this past year in Kathmandu, Nepal. I hope those who love Oregon as much as I do appreciate the gesture in such a far away place.
I left one on the dock bar at Isla Mujeres. Also at the hostel there, I over heard someone talking about Oregon and since I had a handful on me, I offered one to him but he already had one on his Nalgene. They are in Zambia now. I then ran into someone in Tulum and offered them one, but they too also had one.
I saw the sticker around salem on a car im pretty sure it was a sudaru and had to have it. Found it at the made in oregon store, i show it off with pride to my friends and now two of them have got their own to boast. When ever I see another car on the road with it i smile and feel a little connection because of our love for this state
We saw one in a grocery store parking lot in Sedona, AZ! It was great! I happened to have one of the silver lapel pins on me and I left it in the driver’s side door handle for whomever the car belonged to! I hope they got it!!
I am a Canadian living in Vancouver, BC. I have travelled down to Oregon several times already. I have experienced the beautiful and rugged coast; sample the amazing pinot noirs’ of Yamhill county; and loved the sights and sounds of funky Portland.
As I left Powell books the other day, I spotted and immediately bought one of the stickers. It is adorned proudly on the rearview hatch of my car.
I love what you are doing down there. Keep it up!
Thanks!
Oregon Encounters – Stories from the trails of Oregon
Oregon culturists is my title. I seek out Oregon everyday. Sometimes it’s a destination while other times it an amazing story from a 5th generation Oregonian. Whatever my discovery for the day may be, I want to share them with you.
